  • Meeting of the Estates General
  • I will now hold a meeting of the Estates General

  • We all deserve to be equal
  • We aren't going to leave this place until we get our way
  • Storming of the Bastile
  • We need to get in that building
  • The Kind needs to pay for what he has put us through
  • King Louis wanted this meeting because the french government was having a Financial Crisis. King Louis decided to vote by order but the Third Estate didn't like that because they would always get outvoted. After all of this they all went back to how things were which means there was no movement toward democarcy
  • The March on Versailles
  • We need to talk to your king
  • On June 17th the 3rd Estate formed the National Assembly after they were locked out of their original spot. They Pledge that they will not separate until the Constitution was created. The 3rd Estate took matters into their own hands and helped move France towards democracy
  • The Reign of Terror

  • July 14th 1789 is the day when the people of France attacked the government. The Bastille was a Prison in France where they were hiding everyone. The people of France did this because they were signaling a Revolution. The people caused a revolution which helped moved them towards democracy
  • The Rise of Napoleon
  • I will be emperor and everyone will do as i tell them
  • The March on Versailles was led by women. these women were rioting for the high price of bread. The people wanted the King to promise that they would leave. This symbolized a new balance of power which led them to a democracy

  • The reign of terror lasted from September 1793 to 1794. Robespierre was on of the chief architects that killed thousands under the Guillotine. It gave the republic all the power which led them to a democracy
  • We need to stop Robespierre from killing us all

  • Napoleon was a very good emperor, he was very powerful and inspirational to the people of France when he crowned himself. He had a lot of military success and made people happy with the reforms. This could go both ways of a shift towards a democracy or not.
