  • Lets take them to the ship
  • On Ship: Going to ???
  • Make sure you eat your food!
  • Working: For master
  • Africans were kidnapped and held inside of a castle for three months before being taken onto ships with no knowledge of where they are going.
  • On ship
  • After staying in a castle for a couple of months many Africans were chained up and put into a ship with 1000 other Africans and it was often cramped.
  • Working
  • Once the ship reached its destination Africans were boarded off and put on sale, if bought they became slaves for those who bought them, if not they had to wait.
  • Freedom
  • A Few Years Later
  • indentured servants signed a contract to work for someone else in exchange for transportation to Virginia.
  • Once indentured servants arrived in Virginia they were given clothes, food and shelter. Adults would usually work for a few years while kids worked longer mostly until 21 years old.
  • After they finished their contract they were given land,If you were male you received a horse, if you were a women you were given a cow.
