- "Cherry? The Soc?."
- "Yeah. She came over the vacant lot the night Two-bit was jumped."
- WHAT!?!?!?
- We're goin back to turn ourselves in...
- I wonder if we started the fire
- GET BACK IN HERE BEFORE I BEAT YOUR HEAD IN!

- Help us!!!
- Suddenly and surprisingly, Dally mentions the fact that Cherry Valentine has turned against the Socs. She is now a spy for the Greasers despite being a Soc herself. As Incredulous as it seemed, Cherry Valentine was teaming up with the same people who killed her boyfriend.
- Ill save them!
- THE CHILDREN ARE IN THERE!
- Dally is driving Ponyboy and Johnny back up to the Church at the top of Jay Mountain and they are discussing Johnny and Ponyboys experience at the Church. Johnny was contemplating if he was going to turn himself in or not as the aftermath might not be as bad as he thought.
- HELP WE ARE IN HERE!
- A roaring blazing fire had caught onto the church that Johnny and Pony were just in a few hours before. As Johnny and Ponyboy decide to check out what the deal is, they came to the conclusion that the church most likely caught ablaze from a lit cigarette that Johnny or Ponyboy dropped.
- Ponyboy and Johnny see a group of kids and some adults outside of the church and Ponyboy asks one of the adults what is going on. He gets insight on the fact of how the church just lit ablaze. A woman is wondering where some of the children went. At this point, the woman was very apprehensive and at that exact moment, everyone heard faint screaming coming from the church.
- Pony and Johnny go inside the church to save the kids. It is burning and extremely Smokey. After johnny and Ponyboy save the kids, and Ponyboy gets out of the church, johnny is crushed by a large plank of wood and becomes severely injured.
- Johnny and Ponyboy were in ambulances because of there wounds from the fire. Johnny got hurt very bad and Ponyboy was only mildly hurt. In chapter 7, the aftermath of the event will definitely be apparent
