Odysseus and his men go to the land of the Cyclops and on the third day, some of the men are sent to explore this land to find out if the Cyclops are lawless or hospitable.
"I'll make the crossing in my own ship, with my own company, and find out what the mainland natives are (Homer75)"
"you are a ninny, or else you come from the other end of nowhere, telling me, mind of the gods! (homer 175-180)"
it shows that Cyclops does not care about gods.
"we would entreat you, great sir, have a care for the gods' courtesy: Zeus will avenge the unoffending guest. (Homer 172-175)"
Odysseus and his crew stab cyclops's eye.

Oddyseus plan worked, cyclops cried for help and he is searching for the door.
Cyclops says that he will pray for an earthquake by acting as a friend. Because you put me down with wine and blinded me
