I have a test tomorrow in synthetic division. Can you help??
So the first thing you would want to do is to take the coefficients of all the x's and put them in order. If one coefficient is missing, you put a 0. For example, If you have x^3+x+1, you would write that as 1 0 1 1.
Next, put the number given on the left side, separated by a line. If you're give x-3, then you put 3. Then, put the first number down. Then, multiply the first number by the divisor (3 in this case)
Yes! Thank you so much!
Take the product of these numbers, and put them under the next one, then add. Continue doing that until you have a set of numbers. If you are left with 1 2 3, and your original polynomial was a power of 3, you'd write that as x^2 +2x+3. Do you get it?
