"A Constitution Is Called" In 1786 delegates from five states met, and created ways to promote goods from other states. The five men believed that creating national trade laws would help the economies of all the states. To do so they had to amend the Articles of Confederation.
Okay so who wants to be president?
"The Convention's Delegates" The 55 delegates to the Constitutional Convention, as the Philadelphia meeting became known, were very impressive group. Half were lawyers. Others were planters, merchants, and doctors. Three-fourths of them had been representatives in the Continental Congress. These delegates are called the Founders.
So now that we have a plan, I want to thank you guys for your help.
"The Delegates assemble" Most of the delegates came without any idea of what they were doing. Some thought they would only draft the amendments to the Articles of Confederation. Others thought they would design an entirely new plan for the government. But they all agreed that the government should protect people's rights.
"The Convention Begins" They first wanted to decide who was going to become president of the election. Robert Morris nominated George Washington. Every delegate voted for him. At their next meeting, the delegates decided on the rules for the convention.
"The Virginian Plan" They were finishing up how there plan was going to be and they decided all together on what they were going to do. But nobody knew because they kept it a secret .
"The Great Compromise" They finally had everything together and were all ready to leave and have there government all set up and have some of the best rules ever.
