Storyboard Text

  • February Days
  • This is such injustice. Let's show them what we are made of ladies!!!!!
  • Give us bread and rights!
  • Of course, the more people the bigger the influence!
  • We want to rebel to; can we join you?
  • We were supposed to put a stop to this, but you guys are right.
  • February 23, 1917, thousands of women gathered in the streets of Petrograd to celebrate National Women's Day and protest bread shortages.
  • The next day, they were joined on the streets by teachers and students who carried plaques titled "DOWN WITH THE TSAR!"
  • Sir, the only way to restore power is for you to give up power.
  • Many troops that were ordered to put an end to the event joined the protesters instead. Tsarist officals were attacked and public spaces were destroyed.
  • You stink!
  • The government had lost control of the capitol.
  • All this chaos is getting out of control, the Tsar needs to step down!
  • It was told that the only way to restore order and avoid military defeat was for the Tsar to give up power.
  • Ugh, this is such a hard decision.
  • Sir, they are not letting up.
  • On March 2, Nicholas II agreed to give up power. In just ten days, three hundred years of rule has come to an end.
  • YAY! Get out of here!
  • I declare myself to be stepping down from power.
