Poverty can be defined as the state of having few material possessions or little income, while hunger is a condition in which a person does not have the physical or financial capability to eat sufficient food.
Poverty and hunger are closely linked - those who live in poverty are likely to suffer from hunger or malnutrition. Poverty and hunger are often caused by lack of education, employment and healthcare.
The countries that are most affected are usually third world countries, such as: Somalia, Yemen, Chad, Nepal, Moldova, Laos, Nepal, Peru, Senegal, and etc.
Joshua is one of those kids living in such countries. At least 14 million children suffer from severe acute malnutrition around the world. Severe acute malnutrition is the direct cause of death for 2 million children every year.
We can help in addressing this issue in many ways, such as: Food donations, monetary donations, access to improved education, government interventions, increased programs, and etc.
You're welcome!
Thank you for the donation, sir!
Taking action on such issue is very important as it can save the lives of not only children, but as well as adults and even the sick and elderly who are suffering from hunger due to poverty.
About 29% of all countries have halved child malnutrition. About 54%of developing countries are on track to cut extreme poverty in half. About 700 million less people lived in poverty in 2010, than in 1990.
