- “Get back here!”
- Gum Baby steals Tristan's treasured journal in the middle of the night.
- “Gum Baby’s on a mission.”
- “Give me my friend’s journal back!”
- Tristan Strong chases after Gum Baby and punches the sacred bottle tree. This results in a hole in the sky of another world.
- “No idiot you’re fixing to get us both in big trouble.”
- Tristan Strong is teleported into another world and meets his new companions who are not delighted to see him. His new companions’ names are Ayanna, Chestnutt, and Gum Baby.
- “Who did you bring back Gum Baby?”
- “Not my fault, he punched a hole in the tree.”
- “Not my fault, he punched a hole in the tree!”
- Tristan and his companions get shipwrecked as a result of an enemy ship's attack and they come across a village.
- “We’re saved!”
- “Give those kids back!”
- A village gets attacked by fetterlings, a chain like snake who are subordinates to the evil demon Anansi. Tristan Strong and his new found companion, John Henry, work together to try and save the village but they fail.
- Tristan Strong, Ayanna, Gum Baby, and Chestnutt fly through the sky on a boat to a place called the Golden Crescent in an effort to bring back the prisoners from the village.
