  • One time long ago there was a bad young man who was making trouble every where he went. His father and mother tried every thing but nothing worked. One day as he was pushing kids into the river when he saw someone coming in a canoe.
  • It was Granny Squannit. She took him to her cave for being a bad young man. When she fell asleep, he had the chance to escape, but he was too curious and wanted to see her face. He pushed her hair to the side to see her face. She had one giant eye.
  • She scared the badness out of him. He returned to his home a changed boy. He was given the name High Eagle because he respected his elders and did things with other people in mind.
