There is a volcano in Sicily, Italy, in the Metropolitan City of Catania, called Mount Etna
Mount Etna is the highest volcano in Europe, and one of the most active in the world. Etna was created by the movement of the tectonic plates
in my research, I found out that plates near Italy are convergent. Which means that the Europian plate and the African plate had moved towards one another and one was forced down.
European plate moves to the African plate
the African plate is forced down
when plate is forced down, magma inside the mantle comes up through the volcano and reaches the Earth surface, when its already floated out of the top,it is called Lava.
when the lava cools down,it hardens and forms the mountain
