The story takes place in Strattensburg. The main character is Theo and it is up to him to help the cops find his friend April, who gets taken from her house, while her mother is away at a neighbors house. People suspect that she is kidnapped. (This is a third person story)
Ike look,"There she is."
The problem or conflict is that Theo does not want to tell his family about April's secrets, that she made him swear to keep. The police are not checking all of the leads on the case which causes arguments.
Theo, Chase and his friends decide to look for April on their own. They think that the police will keep hitting roadblocks and won't be able to find April. They make posters and get more people to help, but then they realize they need to involve Uncle Ike to help look for April. If they do, then they will definitely find her, Theo thinks.
Ok,"Lets get started."
Theo's parents leave to go to a convention that other divorce and realty lawyers go to. That area is their specialty. When they go, Theo stays with Chase and Chase's sister "babysits"them. The search for April continues. With Uncle Ike's help, they think they've located her. They locate April's dad's band and learn that April is with him in Chapel Hill where he is playing at a frat party. Chase covers for Theo when he goes to get her and bring her back.
When Theo is looking for April at the party, he finds her behind the stage. He asks her if she is okay and tries to convince her to leave. He tells her that everyone is looking for her and that they have to leave. He says that her dad lied to her. They leave Chapel Hill. Theo calls his parents and tells them that he found April.
April,"Are you okay?"
April has returned back to Strattenburg with Theo and Uncle Ike and the talk of the kidnapping has stopped. April's parents decide to go to counseling and work things out. Judge St. Nick gives Theo's mom temporary custody until April's family can figure things out. April and Theo become closer and more then just friends.
