This scene is about buck being able to adapt to the klondike. On chapter 2 paragraph 5 it said " Buck learned easily, and under the combined tuition of his two mates and François made remarkable progress. This shows that he was able to adapt easily to his new life.
Curly is not strong
This scene shows Francois being able to adapt in the Klondike. Francois is smart and is prepared to be in the snow. Francois is a French Canadian mail driver who bought buck to be in his team of dogs. In the book is said " But the opportunity did not present itself, and they pulled into Dawson one dreary afternoon with the great fight still to come." This explains how they were at Dawson. He was a mail carrier so he traveled allot.
ITS SO COLD!!!
This scene shows John Thornton being able to adapt in the cold. John Thornton was a gold Hunter and have experienced in the ways of living in the Klondike. In the book It said ''If you strike that dog again, I'll kill you," he at last managed to say in a choking voice.'' This explains how he knows how it hurts to be hurt and being in the cold and snowy Klondike.
This scene shows curly dead and a pack of dogs surrounding her. on page 11 it said "Then she dies as many other huskies surround her and tear her to pieces." this shows that curly wasn't strong Enough to live in the Klondike.
This scene shows Mercedes not prepared for the Klondike. They made the dogs carry a big load of things that were not necessary for the trip. She is crazy and threw away water! On chapter 5 paragraph 34 it said " Mercedes cried when her clothes-bags were dumped on the ground and article after article was thrown out. She cried in general, and she cried in particular over each discarded thing. She clasped hands about knees, rocking back and forth broken-heartedly.'' This shows that shewas not able to adapt to the Klondike.
Dave was a dog on bucks team. He was able to adapt in the Klondike but one day During the journey he got sick. but he refused to be taken out of the sled. He preferred die while doing his job than to die with out doing anything. On chapter 4 paragraph 29 it said " Sick as he was, Dave resented being taken out, grunting and growling while the traces were unfastened, and whimpering brokenheartedly. This explain how he was a brave and risk taking dog.
