Life on the farm for the colonies was long and tiring. There were many jobs for farmers to maintain their farm such as cutting wood, feeding farm animals and more. The economy of the farm was based on farming, commerce, and handcrafting.
Boston Massacare (1770)
Here there are white, landowning men that are over the age of 21 voting on a law in a general assembly. At the time these were the only people who were allowed to vote. These men voted on laws and taxes that applied only in their colonies.

The Stamp Tax was a new tax that required a certain a stamp for all printed items such as newspapers, letters, legal documents, and more. The colonist were upset and angry because the tax was being forced without consent of the colonial legislatures. So in October 1765 the colonies arranged and sent representatives to a meeting which was called the Stamp Act.
Declaration of Idapendence
The Boston Massacre was a fight that broke out in 1770 between British soldiers and colonists. The fight broke out because many angry patriots were throwing rocks and snowballs at the British soldiers since the soldiers were protecting the customs house, (the place where taxes were collected). In response the soldiers fired shots causing chaos and the death of 5 patriots.
Many Colonist were upset because at Britain because they were imposing the phrase "taxation without representation". So on December 16, 1773 many colonists protested by dressing up as Indians and blocking the tea from being taken off the ship and dumped around 342 crates of tea into the harbor.
The Declaration of Independence was completely singed on August 2nd, 1776. It was singed in the Pennsylvania state house by 56 delegates. The Declaration was written by Thomas Jefferson. The main purpose of the Declaration of Independence was to gain freedom by separating themselves from great Britain.
