I just discovered four new stars orbiting around Jupiter!
I have discovered the heliocentric theory!
Legend has it that young Isaac Newton was sitting under an apple tree while studying, he was bonked on the head by a falling apple. This prompted him to suddenly come up with his law of gravity. Of course we still don't know if this was actually reality or just a myth.
I found a way to find proof using reason.
In January of 1610 he discovered four new “stars” orbiting Jupiter—the planet’s four largest moons.
Church and Science
Has the Bible ever moved and tested something?
Why do you think you can be smarter than the bible? The bible is always right.
Nicolaus Copernicus was the first modern European scientist to propose that Earth and other planets revolve around the sun. This was known as the Heliocentric Theory.
How it Impacted the World
This is a heliocentric model. The theory was proposed by Copernicus.
Francis Bacon established the Scientific Method. There was a logical procedure that was used to test theories. It was begin with a question, form a hypothesis that is tested through experimentation, and analyze the data to reach a conclusion.
A conflict arose between science and religious beliefs during this time. The theories and books that were published also led to conflict with the church. The teachings of the church, which were based on faith and revelation, felt significant challenge from science, which offered evidence for its theories
The scientific revolution impacted the world by showing knowledge that we teach and learn today. Without the scientific revolution, who would know about the heliocentric theory?
