Sabina and Ruszka suffer working another day in the unsafe conditions of the Lithuanian farm.
We must leave Sabina, we are in danger. Though we escaped the Warsaw ghetto we are not safe from the Nazis.
You are right, we leave tonight.
Later that night...
Hurry Ruszka! Before they notice we are gone!
The only spot they can find is a hole located deep in the Polish woods during the brutal winter. They take turns leaving to beg nearby farms for food.
We should be safe here
One day Ruszka does not come back. Devastated, Sabina is forced to assume the worst.
Sabina faces starvation and hypothermia, wondering if she will be able to survive by herself.
