Penumbra- where there is only the partial eclipse.
Umbra- shows the total eclipse.
A solar eclipse is where the moon comes directly between the sun and the moon. It makes a small shadow where only a direct point of the Earth can see the eclipse.
Part of the sun the moon couldn't cover.
Penumbra and umbra.
Lunar eclipses form due to a full moon coming into Earth's shadow. Unlike the solar eclipse the moon gets covered not the sun.
