  • William Shakespeare 1590 to 1613
  • Shakespear's greatest piece of work is absolutely "Romeo and Juliet". In this play, a old family rivalry cause two teenage lover's death. This play makes Shakespear a humanist because humanism focuses on the present and the human experience, and nothing says living each moment to it's full potential and focusing on the here and now then love. Also, many people in history have been crushed by their own weaknesses and higher powers, just like in "Romeo and Juliet", so Shakespear essetnially using history to understand the world he lived in, which humanism focuses on.

Shakespear is definetely a humanist because he wrote historical plays that focused on the past and could be used to comprehend the present. He also wrote plays of love and power, like Romeo and Juliet. These types of plays absolutely demonstrate humanism, like previously stated. In addition, he is one of the most influential people in the world an education. He contribted 1,700 words to the English dictionary, including lonely, bedroom, generous, gloomy, and others.

  • Raphael was an Renaissance painter who was native to Italy. He was younger than Leonardo da Vinci and Michelangelo and he studied their work a lot. His art combined Chrsitian and classic styles. Some of his greatest works include "The School of Athens" and his portrayals of modanna, the mother of Jesus.
  • Raphael 1483 to 1512
  • One of his greatest works is "The School of Athens". This includes Raphael and a group of greath thinks and scientists, like Plato, Socrates, Averoes, Michelangelo, and da Vinci. This displays humanism because it includes many historical figures and studying history was one of humanism's big ideas. Also, many of these figures are very well educated, so it promotes learning. Lastly, Humanism partially focused on Greek and Roman glory and how sucsessful their education sustem was, and the painting takes place in Greek and displays many thinkers from both orgins.

  • Humanism is an intellectual movement that focused on global matters rather than church ones. It supported education and studying history. It also focused on the present and the human experience. Raphael is most defientely a humanist because this movement stressed studying history and since much of his work included historic academics, he incorporated both. The movement also supported focus on issues beyond the church and since much of his work blended both Christian and classical styles, he was a part of that expansion.
