Ferdinand sent an army to the Americas to suppress the uprising which caused more Creoles to join the revolution. Ferdinand wanted to keep control of the colonies because of their financial value.
Bolivar promoted “Nativism” which is the idea that all native people shared an identity, this allowed him to mobilize and lead a multi-racial army
The Creoles gained their independence after many years of fighting. They became a self governing people and created the Republic of Bolivia, named after Bolivar.
With a large army supplemented by people who despised being colonized by Spain, Bolivar led multiple Creole campaign attempts to liberate various cities.
