  • Walter Cunningham is a scientist and astronaut in the Apollo program. Walt put his science and technology background into real action as a Marine Corps fighter pilot and Apollo Lunar Module pilot. In 1968, he was a Lunar Module Pilot on the Apollo 7 mission. He was NASA's third civilian pilot.
  • Benjy Brooks
  • Michael DeBakey is a world-renowned cardiac surgeon. While in the military he developed Mobil Army Surgical Hospitals and the Veteran's Administration Medical Research System. He developed parts for the heart-lung machine. He was one of the 1st doctors to perform coronary artery bypass surgery. He was a pioneer in the development of the artificial heart, the 1st to use an artificial heart pump.

  • Denton Cooley is an American heart surgeon famous for performing the first implantation of a total artificial heart.
  • Howard Hughes Sr.
  •  Benjy Brooks was the 1st woman to become a pediatric surgeon in Texas. In her work, she conducted research on congenital defects, burn treatment, spleen reparation, and the prevention of hepatitis. She was also the first woman in the surgery department at Harvard Medical School.  She founded the pediatric surgery division at the University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston. Dr. Brooks actively conducted research throughout her career in addition to working as a pediatric surgeon. 
  • Michael Dell is the owner of Dell Computers which is the leading seller of personal computers.  He is ranked as the 39th richest person in the world by Forbes. Michael Dells idea to make computers came about while sitting in a college dorm room. Besides making computers Michael Dell is also a Philanthropist and investor.
  • Howard Hughes Sr. made drill bits for the oil industry and made much of his money in Texas oil. He invented the "Sharp–Hughes" rotary tri-cone rock drill bit during the Texas Oil Boom. He is best known as the father of Howard Hughes, the famous American business tycoon. Howard wasn't always rich, in fact, he was born in a small Texas home to a not very wealthy family.
