Storyboard Text

  • Understanding Visual Acuity
  • Accommodation
  • LASIK eye surgery "corrects disorders of accommodation," such as Myopia (nearsightedness), hyperopia (farsightedness), and astigmatism.
  • Thick lens
  • After the procedure, there will be an improvement in visual acuity, or the degree to which vision is clear and focused.
  • Thin lens
  • Light will pass through the reshaped cornea and refract light through the lens, which will now be able to accommodate.
  • Transition
  • One way in which the lens accommodate light is by thickening, which enable us “to focus light from closer objects.”
  • Mom
  • The other way in which the lens accommodate is by thinning, which enable us “to focus light from distant objects.”
