  • Last time we described physical change but now we will describe chemical change
  • Review - A chemical change is where a new form of matter is formed. Examples : rust,burn,decompose, ferment
  • For the first example we are going to light a match
  • For the second example we are going to be putting a nail in acid
  • For the first example we are going to need a match and a lighter to light it. 
  • Once the match is lit the match will now burn
  • Once we have the match we need the lighter to light it on fire
  • For the second example we need to wear google, gloves, and have hair up
  • After putting the nail in the acid it starts to rust
  • In the test tube we have acid and then we have a nail which are going to put in the acid
  • The first example shows a chemical change because after the match is lit and it had burned out its in a new form
  • The second example shows a chemical change because after leaving the nail in the acid, it starts to rust and is in a new from
  • Now that we went over physical and chemical changes
  • We will describe physical and chemical properties
