Battles of Saratoga
September 19, 1777 and October 7, 1777
By: Hailey Ulery
General John Burgoyne had the British army march slowly south giving the colonists time to regroup under the Horatio Gates.
We will get those colonists one by one!
George Washington sent Benedict Arnold to tell the colonists to build a gate that has the strength of sixty - five hundred men.
Raise the GATE!
After Burgoyne attacked on September 19 and won, Henry Dearborn led Morgans men, the colonists, into the woods so that they can block off a British flanking column.
Burgoyne attacked again on October 7. Arnold joined the fight but Burgoyne still won.
Burgoyne forced the colonists to retreat. 10 days later though Burgoyne surrendered.
