Storyboard Text

  • Conflicts with the Native Americans and Colonists started when the Colonists encroached onto Native Territory. In response the Natives retaliated with a series of incursions onto farmlands.
  • "We should not escalate the conflict into full out war. There I will advocate for a policy of containment of the Indians."
  • Afterwards many colonists got angry and openly rebelled. They were lead by Nathaniel Bacon who burned Jamestown to the Ground.
  • As the rebellion was about to win poor Nathaniel Bacon died of dystentry. The rebellion would collapse soon afterwards. 
  • Governor Berkeley comes back from exile with a few hundred troops and shortly gains back the land that was lost.
  • The rebellion was crushed and the rest of the rebels were hanged.
