  • February 18, 1564: Galileo's birth
  • Vincenzo, we have no money

  • 1589-1592: Galileo developes his theory on objects falling at the same speed.

  • 1589-1592: Galileo teaches to students

  • Galileo Galilei was born in Pisa. His mother was uneasy about having little money and his father is hopeful
  • 1591: Vicenzo (Galileo's father) died
  • Galileo defies Aristotle's theory by proving that all objects fall at the same speed.
  • Autumn 1609: Surface of the moon January 1610: Jupiter has 4 moons
  • Galileo is a math lecturer at the University of Pisa and he taught about his well-known experiment to prove Aristotle wrong.
  • June 21, 1633 His final interrogation
  • Galileo's mother sent Galileo a letter stating the death of his father.

  • With his invention, the telescope, Galileo discovers that the moon has valleys and mountains. (The highest mountain is 4 miles)  He later discovered Jupiter's four moons and gave names to them. 
  • Amazing, our very own moon has mountains and valleys and Jupiter has four moons
  • The next day, he was charged with heresy and is forced to confess his mistakes, and accept the church's judgment. He is also sentenced to be in prison for a period of time the church will decide. On January 8, 1642, Galileo passes away.
