The black death was a huge epidemic which killed millions in Europe in the 14th Century.
symptoms included:-swelling-vomiting-fever-and much more
To combat the disease, doctors recommended patients to eat lettuce because it magically cures everything.
huh?
oh don't worry, a few meals with lettuce and you'll get all better.
spoiler alert: it did not work. So everyone decided to turn to our favorite sky dad, God.
In Florence, half the population died. The whole city looked barren and empty. Just like my social life.
Although it was a rough and terrible time, it majorly affected the economy.
The peasants' work wages increased now that the population decreased, and it soon led to the renaissance.
