  • After the American Revolution, american settlers began to claim land owned by native americans. The natives got angry and started to fight.
  • As americans settled on native american land, conflicts began to start. The native americans had owned this land for hundreds of years and did not like the americans on it.
  • George Washington created a policy that american settlers could use force to remove a native american from their land.
  • More conflicts started to arise in the U.S. so Washington decided to send soldiers down  to the tribes to settle them.
  • Without the British to help them, the native americans lost against the american troops. This battle is called the Battle of Fallen Timbers.
  • The Native Americans lolos the Battle of Fallen Timbers as well as most of their land. The U.S. forced the remaining native Americans to sign the Treaty of Greenville, which gave away lots of their land.
