  • Going to India
  • Bye mom and dad it's time for me to go to india and learn all about it.
  • In India
  • Hello, my name is Arjun and I will be your teacher this week.
  • Yes, I am finally here in India and today I get to learn about the geography and social structure.
  • Learning about the Religion
  • Buddhism: Buddhism all started when a young prince named Siddartha Gautama left his palace one day and ventured into the outside world alone with no guards with him. Then he saw a dead man, a man with disease, an old feeble and rendered man who was helpless. Then Siddartha stayed out of the palace and lived in the real world and ate others scraps and lived on the streets. Then he started to live by what gurus did and Siddartha started self-denial which is to limit how much you eat, you can't bath yourself  and you couldn't want things. The four noble truths of Buddhism were all life is suffering, cause of suffering is because of ignorant desire,  the desire can be destroyed, and the mean to this is the eightfold path. Then Siddartha sat under a tree called the Bodhi tree for 49 days to meditate. After the 49 days he woke up and he now called himself Buddha because this meant the enlightened one. Also he found his nirvana. Today Buddhism is taught in things called Monestaries.
  • Today you will be learning about the religion.
  • Okay, sounds good to me. Let's go!
  • Who are these guys
  • I love nuts!
  • The Leaders
  • Geography: India stretches over 2,000 miles and there are lots of natural barriers like the Himalaya mountains the Indus river and many more.  Also Indians relied on monsoons (seasonal wind patterns) to grow there crops. Social structure: In the social structure they used something called the caste system. In the caste system there were 5 classes, the highest was the Brahmins then the Kshatriyas then the Vaishyas then then Sudras and as the lowest system the untouchables. For the most part people were alright with this because they felt liked they belonged but one bad thing was that you had to marry someone in your caste system. That's the geography and social structure of Ancient India.
  • Downfall and Inventions
  • Well today's your last day of learning and it will be about the Inventions and Downfall of Ancient India.
  • I've had a good time learning about Ancient India and you've been a great teacher but now lets finish up.
  • Hindiusm: Gurus are the ones who tought the religion. Hinduism is the 3rd biggest religion in the world. Brahman was there one supreme god. Also everyone had an inner soul called Atman. Plus things called epic poems told other people stories that explained the religion to others. Another thing is that the goal of life is to attain salvation or Moksha. Also they believe that after you die something called Reincarnation happens and you're reborn in a different caste. The four goals of life were Dharma (righteousness), Artha (means of money), Kama (right desire), and Moksha (salvation). Plus the writing was Called sanskrit which is the oldest language for scriptures in the world.
  • Going Home
  • One of the first leaders was Chandragupta Maurya. He was a pretty good leader, he was a really good soldier and he could shoot a nine foot arrow that pierces through a shield. Although he had a lot of anxiety because he thought someone would just kill him. So he had his guards taste all his food before he ate it, He never really went out in public, And lastly he slept in a different bed each night. But once he died Ashoka should have been the next leader but he was disliked by his father so his younger brother was leader first. But after Ashoka's dad died he then killed his brother in his sleep so that he could become leader. Ashoka then led for an estimated 36 years and he was a pretty good leader.
  • Today  I will be teaching you about some of the leaders in Ancient India
  • Cool, So lets get started dude.
  • Inventions: One was they created literature like fables and stories. Also they created the number zero and created algebra, trigonometry, also they created chess  and lastly they created advanced medicine. Downfall: After Ashoka died there were a few more leaders but the last one was killed by his one general and then from there Ancient Indias empire fell and that's all about Ancient India.
  • Bye, come again soon
  • I'll try, it was nice seeing you and thanks for being such a good teacher. Bye.
