Explaining Photosynthesis

Explaining Photosynthesis

Storyboard Text

  • The Process of Photosynthesis
  • Plants take in 2 raw materials. Plant take in water through the roots and carbon dioxide from the atmosphere into the stomatas on the underside of the leaves.
  • The roots of the plant take in water.
  • The stomatos on the bottom of the plant take in carbon dioxide.
  • Photosynthesis is the process by which green plants and some other organisms use sunlight to synthesize foods from carbon dioxide and water.
  • Glucose (sugar) is produced as food for the plant. A waste product is also produced called oxygen that is released for mammals to use.
  • Inside the chloroplast a chemical reaction occurs producing two products.
  • Sunlight is called a catalyst because it causes a chemical reaction to occur,
  • oxygen is released from the plants.
  • The Process of Photosynthesis
  • Energy from sunlight is captured by chlorophyll found in chloroplast in plant cells
  • now the mammal can uses this oxygen.
