  • Without a significant fleet and having lost their strategically important fortresses in Sicily, Corsica, and Sardinia, the Carthaginians had to look elsewhere for a source of money to fund their armies. 
  •  Some of the main reasons for the second war Carthage's intrigues with the Celts, Hannibal's rivalry with Rome in Spain and the great Carthaginian's general thirst for revenge on Rome.
  • Oh and in 256 Catherage was prepared to surrender to the Roman empire but they could not agree with there ridiculous demands so they ended up attacking the Romans
  • The war was fought to establish control over the strategic islands of Corsica and Sicily
  • Do you know what strategies the 2 empires used during the second Punic war?
  • Yeah I know once Hanniable took control of the Carthaginians he had over 90,000 infantry, 12,000 cavalries, and even elephants  
  • The Romans used naval attacks they took the warfare to sea
  • Soon the  Roman army was defeted by the Carthgins and in 216
  • The Romans to regain their stand in the battle  while the Carthaginians lost their hold o Italy while Rome had many victories in Spain
  • In the end, Rome forced Carthage to give up their fleet and surrender
