  • i wish to drink from your fountain of wisdom
  • what will you give me for it?
  • i will give you my eye
  • then you may drink and be wise
  • with Odin's pledge in my water i shall be even more wise than Odin can dream. what a fool.
  • Odin, hearing of the fountain that makes Mimer so wise seeks him out to ask for a drink from the fountain.
  • Mimer asks Odin what price he is willing to pay for the wisdom in the cup and Odin offers his eye.
  • uhh yes! now go consult someone else!
  • we should do something about his "friend"
  • he's not wise when his friend isn't around, he's a fool!
  • with Odin's all-seeing eye in the fountain when Mimer drank the water the next day he became much wiser.
  • poor friend was too wise for his own good.
  • After a harsh battle with the Vanir to show peace and unity hostages were exchanged. Odin deciding to gift his brother and the wise giant to the Vanir people.

  • Due to his brother's reputation as a wise-man Hoenir is proven unqualified and the Vanir people are insulted and kill the giant to send a message to Odin
