This sand isn't hot like I thought it would be. It's actually kind of cold. Is the under layer of sand an insulator?
Now the sand is burning my feet because I'm touching it directly! I think that's called conduction. I'm completely burning!! Clearly I'm not made for the beach, I'm going to go home. That sand is surely a conductor.
Why'd I get burnt? I think it's because radiation is the sun's rays, or electromagnetic waves, touching something and making it hot.
I guess I'll just boil some water to make some soup because clearly I'm made for indoors. I'll be careful to hold the pot by the handle since it's an insulator and the pot is a conductor.
OUCH!!!! THAT'S HOT!! Guess I didn't realize that the water in this pot would be hot from convection. I know it's convection because it is through a fluid. Clearly I need to stay away from everything that is hot.
