  • As Abigail and Marry Warren sit in the courtroom, Abigail comes up with the idea to point fingers at Elizabeth and make plots to accuse her. Once in the courtroom they proceed to make a doll. " I had to sit long hours in a chair, and passed the time with sewing" (Miller, Act II, Line 92).

With all the commotion she uses the opportunity to blame Elizabeth and the doll for this. "without word nor warnin’ she falls to the floor. Like a struck beast, he says, and screamed a scream that a bull would weep to hear (Miller, Act II, Line 352).
  • Soon after, Cheever talks to the Proctor and tells him everything that occurred at the Reverend's house and the claim's Abigail has said against his wife. The Proctor comes to Elizabeth's defense denying having any involvement. "Stuck two inches in the flesh of her belly, he drew out a needle.. Testify it was your wife's familiar spirit pushed it in"(Miller, Act II, Line 352).
