They have taken away the Lord out of the tomb, and we do not know where they have laid Him.

Mary Magdalene, Mary mother of James, Joanna, Salome and some other women travelled to the tomb while it was dark. When they got there the sun had risen, and they could see that the tomb was empty and the stone was gone.

Woman, why are you weeping?
The women went back and Mary Magdalene told Simon Peter and another disciple about what they had seen.
Jesus is alive!
Do not touch Me, for I have not yet ascended to the Father; but go to My brethren and say to them, ‘I ascend to My Father and your Father, and My God and your God.
Peter and the other disciple decide to check for themselves. The other disciple beats Peter to the tomb and by looking in from outside, he can see that only the linen wrappings remain. Peter goes into the tomb and eventually the disciple does too. They don't understand the scripture that Jesus will rise from the dead so they go back home.

Mary was outside the tomb crying and then saw two angels sat in the tomb. They asked her why she was crying and she told them that she didn't know where Jesus had been taken. At that moment, she turned around and saw Jesus but she didn't recognise him.
At first she mistakes him for the gardener but after explaining the good news, Mary is shocked to find out he is Jesus and he is alive! He told her to spread the good news.
Mary Magdalene tells the disciples the good news and everything that Jesus told her.
