  • Grief- You can clearly see in the poem that the narrator is greiving apon the death of his Captain (father). He states in the poem ¨walk the deck my captain lies, Fallen cold and dead.¨ he also says many more things like ¨my father does not feel my arm.¨
  • S-Style
  • fearful, rack, sought, exulting, keel, grim, bleeding, daring, captain, flung, bugle, mournful
  • T-Theme
  • He uses words like voyage, captain, anchored, ship, shores etc. to make the effect as if it was almost like a voyage of life then his captain (father) passed away. I think these words give the poem a ocean type of vibe
  • Oh Captain My Captain
  • I feel as though the authors style is best described as descriptive. I found that the narrator gives details. The narrator explains how the captain is dead on the deck and how he's bleeding.
  • I think the theme is kind of a mix between love and death because the narrator makes it clear that he wants his ¨captain¨ back but can not get him to feel or respond however, it it also talks about how the ¨captain¨ is dead.
