Storyboard Text

  • This is an ipu and pa`u used by  your mother for healing others. If you want it, you can have it.
  • Thank you Auntie!
  • Dig a hole three feet wide, six feet long, and four feet deep. If you don't complete this, I will stop your training.
  • Anuhea, your father is sick! He's at the Hospital!
  • What? Thank you for telling me auntie!
  • Anu, there's an emergency! You have to defeat an evil spirit named 'Ewe'ewe-iki!
  • You're going down 'Ewe'ewe-iki!
  • I'll use my mother's tools!
  • On Anuhea's one day off, she decided to visit her auntie. While she was there, her auntie gave Anuhea her mothers ipu and pa`u used  for healing others. Anuhea uses this as a boost to try harder.
  • With my brand new confidence, I returned home. I also have realized that my mother never left us. She is around me all the time.
  • I now know my purpose in this world! That is to do hula and to help my people heal.
  • During Anuhea's journey, she goes through a lot of challenges. For example, Ku`ulei pushing her to do physical training, Ku`ulei telling her to dig a hole which looks like a grave, and her father being sick.
  • Anu! Let me give you last minute instructions. After this, you must then go to this hut with a waterfall inside. When inside the waterfall, you will see childhood memories.
  • Ku`ulei!
  • Wow! Ku`ulei made me a letter! Let me follow the directions.
  •
  • One day, Ku`ulei surprised Anuhea by saying she has to defeat 'Ewe'ewe-iki. When at the competition, Anuhea uses her mother's pa`u and bangs her ipu to remember her dance in order to defeat the spirit.
  • I now am a Kumu Hula and have the responsibility to pass on this knowledge to my people with patience, love, and respect. I need to care for those who need help through sickness and despair.
  • Anuhea conquered 'Ewe'ewe-iki! After the competition, Anuhea realized her purpose in life. She also realized her mom will always be with her and by her side and that her dad is so amazing.
  • My love and respect for my father has become stronger.
  • Soon after, Ku`ulei died. Anuhea decided to visit her place a few days after she died. When she was up there, she found a letter. It told her instructions of what to do with her body. Before she burned Ku`ulei's body, Ku`ulei woke up. She said to go to a waterfall that woudl bring back childhood memories.
  • I see Mom, Kawai, and Me!
  • Now, Anuhea is a Kumu Hula and needs to teach the next generation her powers. This will help plenty of people with sickness and despair.
