  • In this room is a young girl who was effected by methylmercury, a neurotoxin that effects the human immune system.
  • methylmercury can cause weakening eyesight, "pins and needles" feelings, uncoordinated body movement, impairment of speech, hearing, walking; and muscle weakness.
  • It highly effects the immune system and can cause illnesses like memory loss, or insomnia
  • methylmercury is found in mercury, hints the name. mercury is a common reoccurring element. Mercury is found in fish and everyday products we use at home and schools. The roblem is, when our bodys inhale the mercury while breathing, the side effects can be dangerous, if not fatal.
  • we are yet to find out if methylmercury is a carcinogen or not. For now, we only know of it being a teratogen.
