  • Let us in
  • This event was one of the crucial events that lead to the revolution via the tennis court oath which was caused by the 1st and 2nd estate deciding against the word of the 3rd estate on vote by order over vote by person caused by the financial crisis. I think it wasn't a step towards democracy because nothing changed.
  • The March on Versailles
  • It was a crucial point in the revolution because it was when the third estate pledged they weren't going to get pushed around and they formed the national assembly . It was a step towards democracy because the third estate was demanding a set of rules which they got ( Constitution of 1791)
  • The Reign of Terror
  • We must cut off his head because he is a traitor to the revolution
  • It was a big point because it is considered the start of the revolution which happened on July 14th 1789. The common people of France the third estate stormed the Bastille a prison in France which had an armory they were trying to raid because they believe that the Swiss army was invading and that the king was helping them so they took up arms. It was a step towards democracy because it represented a fall of the old monarchy getting closer to a democracy.
  • The Rise of Napoleon
  • I crown you emperor of France.
  • The march on Versailles was a march for food were The women of France marched to Versailles where the king was to demand bread when they got there they stormed the castle demanding bread where he then promised he would give all the bread ofVersailles to the crowd. It was a step towards democracy because the people of France weren't happy with there current government bringing about change later.
  • Give us bread.
  • We need food
  • The reign of terror was a campaign led by Robespierre to get all the people who didn't support the revolution killed via guillotine. I believe this was not a step towards a republic because it was supporting views of constitutional monarchy until they killed the king and created a republic.
  • Please, no
  • of france xThe rise of napoleon was a time when napoleon who at the time was having great military success crowned himself the emperor of France creating reforms that the people of France liked because they embraced enlightenment ideas giving people more freedoms. I believe the rise of napoleon was and wasn't a step towards democracy because while he embraced enlightenment ideas he was also pretty much the king of france
