"It's okay! Jesus has risen. Go and tell the disciples."
"Go and spread the good news"
On Good Friday, Pilot sent Jesus to be sent down to death for saying he was God's son and Pilot did not believe him. Jesus wore a crown of thorns while carrying a cross. Mind you, it was very heavy, he dropped it three times, so Pilot demanded Simon to help him. Simon helped Jesus. Later that day, Jesus got nailed to the cross in four different places. Later that night Jesus was pulled away into the tomb by two of Simon's guards. Jesus died for everyone that believes and also for those who do not believe.
Three days later after the crucifixion, Jesus rose into heaven. Two guards were scared and fainted because the angel came down and said, "It's okay, Jesus has rose." Two women went to go see how Jesus was, when suddenly they found the tomb empty. This day is now known as Easter Sunday.
"Jesus did extraordinary things to help everyone, but one thing he didn't get was respect"
"Wow! I never knew that?"
40 days later after the resurrection, Jesus was going to go to heaven with God, but he spoke to the disciples one last time. The disciples all gathered on Mount Oliver. They were all standing there but suddenly Jesus appeared while rising and said "Go and share the good news and in return I will give you a precious gift." Then Jesus ascended into heaven with God.
"You now start your journey, in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, Amen."
10 days after the Ascension, the believers were all praying in a room waiting for a gift. There was a sudden gust of wind, it shaked the floor and rattled the windows and suddenly a big tongue of fire appeared from above their heads, which was the gift of the Holy Spirit. The believers went and used the power of the Holy Spirit wisely.
St Peter and most of the the disciples went to Jerusalem, where people from many different places around the world came and gathered. St Peter preached to a crowd of 3,000 people and told them about how Jesus had risen into Heaven. At first they didn't believe him, but he convinced them to believe.
Peter did an amazing job getting people to believe. Such a good job, that many people from Jerusalem wanted to follow in God's way and shared the news about what St Peter had told them. Now over 3,000 people wanted to be baptised. That was the start of the early church, known as the Church's Birthday.
