Lubov is living the ordinary life of him farming and helping his mom sell bread. He is familiar with cooking, but doesn't have lots of experience.
5. Crossing the first threshold
Igor, a farmer, comes to the bakery to warn Lubov and his mother about chef Charles, and how he will force them to enter his cooking competition in a month. Lubov's mother is worried, but Lubov is interested.
6. Tests, allies, and enemies
Lubov asks Pasha, a former michelin star chef for help. Pasha gladly offers to help his grandson. Pasha teaches Lubov lots of cooking tricks and tips, and Pasha is able to improve his cooking skills drastically.
Charles finally comes to the bakery and asks Lubov or his mother to join his competition to spare the restaurant. Lubov confidentially accepts the challenge, and Charles is annoyed.
Lubov cooks against several amateurs, but wins against all of them and easily climbs the brackets. Charles is impressed, but assumes that luck is on Lubov's side.
Lubov makes his way to the final round, where he faces his threshold guardian, Eric. He cooks against Eric, but loses by one vote.
