Storyboard Text

  • Solar energy is an innovative renewable resource that is harnessed from the Sun. This way to generate electricity is becoming increasingly popular across the world
  • Fossil fuels like coal, oil, natural gas are causing many negative effects on the environment. For example global warming. Solar energy will help reduce the use of fossil fuels.
  • Solar energy is a clean resource that does not negatively affect the environment.
  • This is true. Solar energy does not put out carbon dioxide or any different pollutants of the air.
  • The price of solar energy (photovoltaics systems) has dropped significantly.
  • In 2010, the price per Watt DC was $7.34 for residential systems. By 2018 this price has dropped by almost 5 dollars to $2.70.
  • We use a high amount of energy at the right time of day for solar energy.
  • The reason for this is that we use air conditioning when the weather is hot. This is great for PV systems because they absorb the most energy when it is hot with the Sun out.
  • You could argue that solar energy systems take up too much space because a wide space is needed to produce enough electricity.
  • There are many areas to put solar panels around the world. There can be solar devices on houses, buildings, and even open fields near places like highways.
  • Solar energy is the future. Increasingly advanced technology will make solar an even more efficient way to get energy.
  • Fossil fuels will run out in the near future and are bad for the environment. Solar Energy is clean and will not run out as long as the sun exists! Thank you, and I hope you choose solar energy.
