I don´t want to go to school. I must think of a plan to help my family, since my dad can not be a voyageur. What if i become a voyageur i am old enough, and maybe i could find my dad´s friends and they could help me get in! But what will happen to my family and friends?
When we left, and said good bye. I started to feel sad cause I would leave my family. And My dad said if the weather is bad it could take another month or weeks. We rowed for the day and my arms hurt so bad,I .also had a couple blisters to. At first I started to fell sort of homesick, after leaving the shore. My brigade are nice, but they still call me grandpa and laugh, I found one of my friends from school, He was on my canoe to with me.
Time to carry these packs.
Ughhh! why is my bag so heavy? I can't slow down or complain, or else they will leave me behind, and tease me even more .Then La Petite passes me from out of the brush with out losing stride. How can he do that i think, my legs burn so bad and i can barley walk with out losing my balance. Finally i made it to the top, but everyone looked at each other and grinned. Then i saw someone flip a coin to La londe. They bet i wouldn't make it up.
Are you ready Pierre?
Crossing lake Superior was hard, cause Beliot said we would paddle 15 hours straight. When we got on our boat i was scared that Beloit was not lying about the paddling. We took off and headed out to the middle and started our paddling. After a couple hours it started to rain, everyone took their shirt off so it wouldn't get soaked. I left mine on cause i really didn't care about my close getting wet.
After forever we finally made it to the grand portage. I was so tired when we got there , cause then we had to carry more packs to where we stay for the time. We were held back on a island cause of the weather. So everyone cleand them selves up. My blisters are slowly going down. On the way here are boat almost sank, so we had to have people swim and carry the packs to shore. But over all i was happy to be there.
After finishing at grand portage Emile and McKay left to go it was only a couple people left then.Emile and I shook hands and said goodbye, he said see you next year. When we headed back home i was feeling home sick but i was able to tough it out. i will most likely sign again and maybe my dad will sign to! i returned because i missed my family, and wanted to get more used to paddling. So maybe next year I will go more west with Emile.
