Tom is playing with his toy car, he his toy car is going 5 MPH. This is an example of speed, because I'm not giving you the direction it's going and I'm only giving you the speed at which it's going.
Tom went out into the hallway and used a remote control to make the car travel west at a steady 5 MPH. This is an example of Velocity because I gave you the speed, AND direction it's traveling.
Tom forgot that the stairs were on the west side, and the speed of the car went from 5 MPH to 2 MPH, to a sudden stop to 0 MPH. This is an example of acceleration because the speed changes multiple times from 5 MPH, 2 MPH, and 0 MPH.
Tom picked up the car, and moved to the kitchen. For some reason, Tom thought it was a good idea to put the car on the counter and ran it over the stove.
The toy car accidentally hit the the on button for the stove and it set on fire, and Tom is now panicking.
Tom then got scared, panicked, and ran out of the house, leaving the fire, which then led the fire to spread and then he lost his house. All because of a toy car.
