Don't assume things just because it looks like it
Charlie shoots Pete Van Horn because he thought he was the monster.
People start to accuse Charlie that he was the monster when his house lights turn on.
I swear it's not me.
Charlie accuses that the monster was Tommy because when Tommy told the story about the aliens he probably was one of them.
It´s the boy.
He is just a kid.
The theme of the story ¨Monsters due on Maple Street¨ is don't assume things just because it looks like it. To prove that the theme is this I have some evidence to show you. First, the scene when Charlie shoots Pet Van Horn because he thought he was the monster. Just because it was dark he could not tell if it was a monster or a person, so he just shot him. What he was assuming something just because it looks like it and if he haven't done they Pete Van Horn would have still been alive. Second, another scene that supports my theme is when Charlie's lights go on and people start to think he is the monster because after shooting Pete Van Horn people were starting to turn against him and start to attack. What the people did to Charlie was again assume just because what they saw when the lights turn on they admittedly turn against him even more than after what he did to Pete Van Horn. Lastly, one more scene that makes my theme true is when Charlie tried to get the blame of him and point it to Tommy a child. He did it to Tommy because when he told the story about aliens his story was all true so maybe he was an alien. What Charlie did was for the last time again assumed that it was Tommy was the monster because of a story that he told. So in conclusion these are reasons that support my theme and make it true.
