When Queen Elizabeth I died, James I was left with the many problems that she caused for her country. James had many problems with the Parliament, as he already offended members.
After James I died, his son, Charles I took the throne. Charles I needed funds mainly because he was at war with Spain and France. By 1628, the Parliament refused to give him funds until he signed a petition.
King Charles fought the parliament because of money problems. after 1629, Charles dissolved the parliament and refused to let it back in, he chose to work alone.
