The smell of Chlorine filled my nose. I walked along the tile near the pool. My flip-flops skid the ground. The sound of Yoongi diving into the pool startled me. "Look, Jeon! We got a Swimy Board!" Jin said unboxing the board.
The Swimmy board was a new prototype from swimming company. The board is just a motorized Boogie Board. Suga swam up to the fringe of the pool to examine the prototype.
Suga took the board. "So this is for practice? How? It's just a method for swimmers to cheat." I rolled my eyes. "Your supposed to ride it, and hold someone in front of you. It's practice for flip turns," Jin said matter-of-factly. "I want to try it," I announced with my head held high. Like lighting, Jin was already out in the water, rushing me to hurry up and ride the board.
"So I hold your feet, and when we get to the pool wall, I'll let go and you do a flip turn then come back, OK?" Jin cleared. Jin didn't even let me answer, so he grabbed my ankles and turned on the motor. The speed of the board startled me. We zoomed down the swimming lane. I tried to wiggle my feet out of his strong grasp but there was no use.
Each second we got closer to the boarder wall of the pool. Finally, Jin let go of my feet, but it was to late. We were to close to the wall. My head hit the concrete. I instantly blackout, but I could still hear the sound of Suga screaming, " JIN! STOP!"
I was instantly rushed to the hospital. Hours later, I awoke. My eyes fluttered open, and the hospital light high above my head blinded me. I turned my head to see my mom talking to the nurse. "I'm so sorry," the nurse said looking at my mom with great sorrow,"but your son may never talk again." The words felt like someone hit me with a hammer in the gut. I tried to say "I'm fine! I feel fine!", but nothing came out. I didn't want to cry but I did anyway. The nurse left the room, then came back with a marker and a white board. " He will probably need this," The nurse said.
