William PatriciaThe Cartoon shows an example of satire. In the cartoon Tom trades the stuff he got form letting people whitewash for tickets so he can get a bible and meet the judge. The superintendent is surprised to see that tom has enough tickets for a bible and gives it to him in front of the judge, who asks him to tell his family the names of the first two disciples. Tom doesn’t know the names and responds with David and Goliath. This shows that the sunday school was failing in teaching the meaning of the bible and it’s messages and instead it was focused on getting students to memorise verses. The cartoon shows satire.
