The 'Scarlet Ibis' by James Hurst takes place in North Carolina in the 1900s. The main characters are the narrator and his younger brother, Doodle.
The conflict is that the narrator is unhappy with his brother, Who was said not to be able to do regular things
This takes place when the narrator decieds to kill his brother by sufficating him. Then finds that the brother can acctualy move and doodle smiles at his brother
After Doodle learning to walk and start running, swimming, and rowing a boat. Then while everyone is eating a scarlet ibis from the soulth dies in the yard. Everyone checks it out but doodle is the only one who buries it, and the anut says it is bad luck.
The two brothers decide to go out side but it is looking a little gloomy in the sky. The narrator tells doodle to start rowing the boat or he wont get into school.
The rain is coming down hard they are running back. The narrator gets mad that doodle is following him, then doodle trips and the narrator leaves him.
