It also says that when the bullet is 250ft away it is going 2600 ft/sec!
So now all we have to do is find the y-intercept and the slope then we will have our linear equation!
It says here that in the movie when the bullet is 25ft away from the gun it is going 3500 ft/sec! Wow that's fast!
So by taking our two points (25,3500) and (250,2600) I found our slope the slope is -4! That means that for every 1ft that the bullet moves away that is 4 ft/sec the bullet slows down!
So since we already know that when the bullet is 250ft from the gun going 2600 ft/sec since 500 is double 250 we just need to do 250x4 and that will give us our answer to how much we need to subtract from 2600!
Great so now we know 250x4=1000 so 2600-1000=1600 so that means when the bullet is 500ft away from the gun it is moving at a speed of 1600ft/sec!
So I guess we can figure out how fast the bullet is going when it is a certain number of feet away from the gun!
