  • The First Crusade, the Christians attacking the Muslims for the holy land.
  • The Christians Had Won this Fight and This was the beginning of the several other wars.
  • On July 4, 1187, the Muslim forces of Saladin defeated the crusader army south of the Horns of Hattin in Palestine
  • The Second Crusade was a crusade launched from Europe. It started in response to the fall of the County of Edessa in 1144 to the forces of Zengi.
  • The Muslims won this fight and the Christians decided to strike again causing the third crusade, fighting for the holy land.
  • Conrad of Montferrat was a north Italian nobleman, one of the major participants in the Third Crusade. He was the de facto King of Jerusalem by virtue of his marriage to Isabella I of Jerusalem from 24 November 1190, but officially elected only in 1192, days before his death.
